FAQ

Questions imaging centers ask before a pilot.

How the workspace fits the front office, the patient, and the systems a center already runs.

Two checklist items are complete and one is flagged missing.

What is Chalice for imaging centers?

Chalice is a staff workspace beside the RIS a center already uses. This site walks one synthetic order. Reading a live order into the RIS, text booking, waitlist texts, preparation texts, and messages to a referring office are not in this beta. Images, reports, and billing stay in the systems the center already runs.

How does the demonstration treat authorization and scheduling?

Missing information stays separate from authorization. A time outside the authorization window can be seen and cannot be confirmed. Selecting a time is not a booking until the patient confirms it.

Do you replace the RIS?

No. Chalice sits beside the RIS you already run. Images, reports, the radiologist’s read, and billing stay where they are. Chalice is not a PACS and does not open a DICOM study or a modality worklist. Each connection is checked for that center’s system, version, and interfaces.

Is Chalice HIPAA compliant?

Built for HIPAA. Chalice is made by Manna AI Solutions, a HIPAA business associate. We sign a Business Associate Agreement with every center before any patient information reaches us. Patient information is processed and stored in Google Cloud under our BAA with Google, including the AI that reads your orders. Your patient data is never used to train AI models. Chalice never makes a clinical or safety decision: your technologists clear every patient for MRI.

What about MRI safety?

A technologist reviews screening answers and decides whether the patient may be examined. Chalice does not make that decision.

What does it cost?

A monthly subscription per site, priced by order volume, with no per-user fee. We quote the number in conversation.

How long does setup take?

Setup follows the center’s systems and the interfaces those systems make available. Go-live timing is agreed in the discovery call, not promised as a fixed number of weeks.

We already have a reminder vendor. Why look at Chalice?

A reminder vendor messages patients about an appointment that already exists. Patient texts from Chalice, including prep steps, screening questions, and reminders, are on the roadmap. They are not in this beta.

Our RIS vendor offers something like this. How is Chalice different?

A RIS scheduling module serves that vendor’s system. Chalice sits beside the systems a center already has, including the RIS, without becoming a second PACS or a second billing system.

We use a prior-authorization service. Do we have to drop it?

No. Keep that service if it is useful. The walkthrough shows a status and an end date and does not confirm a time past that date. Chalice does not track a center’s live authorizations in this beta. Sending authorizations from Chalice is on the roadmap.

Do we have to give you access to our email?

The demo does not connect to a center’s mail or RIS. How referrals arrive is part of the conversation for that center.

Do you support Spanish?

Not in this beta. The walkthrough on this site is in English. Chalice does not send patient texts.
